Usage in VRChat
ContactGloveOSC has been discontinued
The VRChat ContactGloveOSC avatar integration was discontinued in DivingStation 1.11.0.
For hand tracking in VRChat, use the supported SteamVR Input 2.0 (Skeletal Input) instead.
- Currently, VRChat supports Skeletal Input and SteamVR Input 2.0 for PCVR usage.
- Both ContactGlove1 and ContactGlove2 can use Skeletal Input to perform hand tracking without needing avatar OSC settings.
- When used via SteamVR, the following hand tracking is possible, compliant with Skeletal Input:
- ContactGlove1: Independent bending of each finger and joint
- ContactGlove2: Independent bending and spreading motion of each finger and joint
- Both ContactGlove1 and ContactGlove2 can also perform hand tracking compliant with the Valve Index Controller (1-axis bending for each finger).
- Please refer to the official VRChat documentation for how to switch.
- Input 2.0 FAQ > My avatar's fingers look/move weird now, how do I go back to how it was before?
- Since ContactGlove2 is designed for PC connection, it currently does not support usage in Standalone-VR (Android platform).
For developers: accessing device data
To obtain sensor values and input states in a custom application, use DivingStation Protocol. See the DivingStation Protocol specifications.
